Our Story
We began LOCALS ADVOCATE because we saw a support-need for family-owned businesses to succeed. Both of us have worked within small business for virtually our entire careers. The unfortunate reality of these invaluable businesses is that the visionary/owner lacks the most important tool to continue growth - TIME.
LOCALS ADVOCATE was founded to be essentially the pit-crew for family-owned businesses. Our goal is to offer services and solutions so that you can continue to run your day-to-day operations without being interrupted. We want to help you grow your business into what you know it can be, without the headache of bringing on additional staff (which costs way more than their wage). We do this by focusing on two major business dynamics: digital presence, and operations-optimization.
In today's business landscape, digital presence determines success. If potential customers cannot find you in a matter of seconds online - they will go to your competition. Ranking in search results and on third-party apps like Maps, Waze, GoogleMaps, Yelp, etc. are the reputation-builders. These are the ways that ‘word-of-mouth’, or organic marketing has evolved. People are as ready to talk online to thousands of strangers as they are among their close circle of friends and family. Think of the last service you searched for; Did you go past the first page of results? Did you click on the advertised vendors or did you scroll past that to the organic results? If you looked on an app like GoogleMaps or Yelp - did you call the folks with 100+ reviews of 4 or better, or the guy without a website and no reviews?
We all know that at the end of the day - cash flow is king. Sales are the lifeblood of your business and without a study influx of new customers or services, you are maybe a couple months away from closing up shop. There is a huge opportunity for you to get the attention of dozens, even thousands, of people EVERY DAY, just by instituting several digital features. Getting customers to then leave a review on these platforms and maintaining a consistent brand image on social media channels all keep prospective customers engaged and are worth their weight in gold. But again - these all take time in getting setup and managing, and that’s what we are here for.
Now, say you make some of these changes, you’re getting hundreds of leads per month from people who want your services- Do you have a way to scale your operations for the increased demand? Is your team trained and empowered to meet the increased supply of customers and schedule implications? Does your office staff have a streamlined customer-management system to keep all the information pertinent to them readily-available? These are all issues that we have dealt with and that’s why operations optimization is the second leg of our support to you.
Even wihout the digital world of business, inefficiencies of business operations can torpedo you from within as fast as anything else. Is there a system of checks and balances for your weekly payroll and banking? Is there a going log for keys, passwords and other security measures? Who has access to the shop and storage facilities? As employees we saw a business implode and eventually fail because of seemingly small details like these.
There is a lot out there that can suck you into a black hole of indecision when it comes to developing a strategy for your business. That’s why in our first meetings with customers, we don’t pitch any products or solutions. We want to know you, your goals, and know them intimately so we can come back to you with a tailored-solution. We’ve seen the inner-workings of everything from contractors and tradesmen to law firms and dentists, and we have identified what separates the lifestyles (and peace) of the owners was NOT the industry they were in - it was the balance of these two daily dynamics of their business.

Our faith in Jesus is what drives everything we do. We started LOCALS ADVOCATE with the desire to help other family business owners attain a lifestyle where they could put more time into their families and relationships and be less stressed about the 'daily grind.'
